Zephyr Burger

Zephyr Burgers

Zephyr started smashing burgers in London back in 2017, quickly going from street markets and festivals to their own 7 day-a-week site in Peckham. They worked with the likes of Kerb, House of Vans and Street Feast whilst picking up critical acclaim from the press and in 2020 became the highest rated burger on Deliveroo.

Much of what they do is inspired by places they’ve visited and people they’ve met on their travels around California. Their menu represents the best of what they tasted in and around LA and uses great British produce to create burgers with a nostalgic element. At Zephyr they're all about taking you back to those early burger eating memories.

The brief: In 2020, with lockdown changing how Zephyr were able to operate, they came to me looking for three colourful pieces of artwork based on retro surf and skate art. They wanted to bring their brand to life in these illustrations, and then use them across three different burgers from their new DIY burger kits.

The Solution: I thought rather than three separate pieces, we could create one large illustration, which worked as a strong image on it’s own, but could also be cut into three sections to distinguish the different packaging. The final solution featured sea, sand and mountains as the core elements of the each design element, which when separated worked as independent images. This approach allowed a vibrant and consistent feel to run across the packaging.
