Moersleutel are a Dutch craft beer brewery that was started by 4 brothers. Their aim is to enjoy life and want they do… and they achieve this by making beer that people can enjoy together. Could You Pass Me The (also known as CYPMT) is an annual series of beers that Moersleutel release. In 2023 they reached out to me about creating the artwork, with one of the more unusual and challenging (but interesting) briefs I have received, which was to create a set of labels that were ‘bright’, ‘colourful’ and ‘trippy’, showing a selection of different traditional Dutch tools.

In short, to achieve the brief, I felt a nice take on it would be rather than just illustrating the tools (which had been the basis of the design in previous years), I’d include the interaction of the tool being passed. With the hand passing the tool having benefitted from it… to a hand that was someway in need of it. By combining this with bright and bold colours, as well as small nods on each label to additional tools and engineering elements (as Moersleutels tagline is “Beer Engineers”) the 2023 CYPMT series came to life.

Each label illustration features the tool in the centre of the image (to be seen front on when looking at the can) with the hands wrapping around either side of the can

A glass was also released which featured a wrap around design with the different CYPMT illustrations on.
